I prefer stark, but clean looking backgrounds. I found these particular desktops at Bartelme, run by designer Wolfgang Bartelme. What I really like about his site is the desktop wallpaper “dev-kits” he posts. These are PSD files that users can download and modify.
There are plenty of beautiful desktop wallpapers here, as well as custom icons. Take a look – you may find something neat to spruce up your desktop.
