I purchased the 15" 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo for $1549 (with rebate) new from Amazon. I haven't had a chance to really put the machine thru it's paces (hope to do that this weekend, tho), but from what little I've played with it, I'm really happy.

Specs? I just got a sweet 15" 2.5 GHz Core 2 Duo (refurb) for $1,499 to replace my 1st gen 2006 MBP. I CAN'T WAIT until it gets here (should be tomorrow). The 12 MP RAW images from my Nikon D300 can finally live on my spacious 250 GB internal hard drive (well, at least until I'm done working on them when they can be archived to my drobo).

Thanks for the sweet comic (strip?)!

thanks, eddie. The glossy screens of the new MBP was a major turn-off for me. I'm very happy with the 15" model I purchased. I haven't had a chance to play with it much this week, but I aim to put it through its paces starting this weekend.

Yeah I agree, I like my MBP "17 non glossy (although they haven't come out with the new 17 yet) better than the newer ones. The new models are a lot thinner and have a solid casing but I still prefer the older. Nice diggs Krish... Hmmmm now if I can get used to this orange background you got going on here... :)
