I’m preparing a lesson plan for a class I’m teaching this quarter and wanted to solicit a few suggestions on a suitable mythological story that would make for a good conceptual art project (character design, storyboarding, etc.)
I’ve checked out several books on the subject, but have yet to find a concise, yet entertaining story that would fit the parameters. A few I’ve come up with: Ulysses and crew and their encounter with the sirens, the abduction of Sita (Ramayana), and Prometheus and Hercules.
Thanks in advance for your input…

How about good ol’ Rübezahl?
Monkey King mythology is entertaining. Or you could relate the tale of how the Chinese zodiac came to be (how the Rat became the first in the cycle of twelve.)

funny stuff :)
Hera convinced one of Zeus’s lovers to get him to reveal himself in full glory to her. When Zeus truely reveled himself to his mortal lover, his being was so great that she was instantly incinerated. However, their lovechild was spared.
Thanks, guys and gals. You’ve given me more food for thought…
Not so much myth, but classic stories anyhow: Anassi !
