Ellen Spertus purchased a PCW Guest-Star appearance to commemorate her husband Keith Golden‘s birthday today. Keith serves as the technical lead on Google’s “My Maps” feature. In describing possible topics for Keith’s appearance, Ellen wrote that Keith is always “particularly busy after natural disasters, and he often wears a pager…”.
I decided to have fun with that angle, albeit with a slightly bizarre twist, for Keith’s guest comic. (I’m always looking for an excuse to draw dinosaurs.)

Keith was very surprised and loved the cartoon. Our colleagues did too, with one saying that I “win the prize for coolest hubby bday gift”. The framed and signed print arrived a day early (although I didn’t let him open it until today) and looked great. We also appreciated the sketches you sent, especially the alien invasion idea.
Thank you so much for creating a one-of-a-kind present for my husband that will live on in family and Google history.
